Coming In Hot, 2019.

Coming In Hot was one of my first attempts to mix two art forms, dance and film, into one singular art form. Many dance videos I see from peers and online seem to separate the two, either making the dance the main focus or the videography the main focus. As both a dancer and filmmaker, I wanted to explore ways that I could properly combine the two, respecting the intricacies and movement seen in dance while maintaining the craft and aesthetic in the film. Through this video, I focused on many aspects of lighting and motivated camera movement to capture the energy of the choreography and the vibe of the music. What came out was this project and paved the way in my creative for many of my future projects!
