little dandelion, 2020.

little dandelion is a dance film created for, through, and by the collaborative process of tuning in. When our present values and beliefs collide with our past identities and communities, we find we have nothing left but to go inside and tune in. In the heat of the pandemic, nestled into the quiet fields that stood almost unaffected by rapid changes, a human finds herself caught in the webs of the past while trying to forge a new future. In this moment of internal combat, she sought solace in the nature that surrounded her, and had surrounded her since she was born. Her cry for help was mirrored in her surrounding environment; in the way the mountains never seemed to stay the same, the implications of years of neglect eroding their backs as they weathered on. She found herself, reborn, through a winding path of childhood memories and fairytales, building new walls from the pieces of her past. little dandelion is an ode to the past and present; the evolution of the environment and the human soul in a deeply intertwined, melancholy dance.
