The House of the Spirits, 2019.
Based on Isabel Allende’s best-selling novel, Caridad Svich’s "The House of the Spirits" follows three generations of the Trueba family—their loves, their ambitions, their spiritual quests, and their place in the post-colonial social and political turmoil embroiling their South American country. Directed by Michael Socrates Moran, this darkly poetic adaptation incorporates magical realism to weave the personal and the political into a universal story of love, magic, and fate.

Anna Marie Sharpe is a Theater, Dance, and Performance Studies double major and a recipient of the 2020 Roslyn Schneider Eisner Prize for Continuing Creative Achievement. Although she initially transferred to UC Berkeley as a History of Art major, her first acting classes brought her to the realization that performance was her calling. In the past year she has cultivated her craft in the main stage performances of "The House of the Spirits" and "Who Shot La Miguelito?," as well as student-directed workshops such as "Fable" and "Hamlet." In addition to performing, Anna is a director, a TDPS peer advisor, a co-president of the student organization Colors of Theatre, a company member of Berkeley Interactive Theater, and a mother. Anna also recently served as an understudy for "School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play" at Berkeley Repertory Theater. After graduating, Anna wants to further her acting technique by pursuing an MFA in acting.
